The ergonomic, perpetual curve of Canon's most powerful DVD video camera combines 4.29 Megapixel imaging, for video and still still capture, with true widescreen shooting, DIGIC DV and a 10x optical zoom. The DC40 is geared for widescreen shooting. With a colour viewfinder and a wide 2.7"" LCD screen, footage is monitored exactly as it will appear on a widescreen TV. While the LCD's level marker helps to keep the horizon line correctly positioned, switching between 16:9 and standard 4:3 shooting requires just the push of a single button. Thanks to a precision engineered 10x optical zoom lens, the DC40 gets the most out of its high resolution 4.29 Megapixel CCD. Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) ensures that footage is free of vibrations, while variable zoom speeds give even greater control. Shooting In in Super Night Mode, the camcorder uses a white LED for low-light shooting - even the darkest conditions won't stop you from making great looking movies.
